The Oregon Prison Project


The Oregon Prison Project (OPP) is an Oregon Nonprofit Corporation founded in 2008 that envisions peaceful, thriving communities where we and our children can live and grow in safety.

Vika, Executive Director of the Oregon Prison Project (OPP) at that time, and Fred Sly, PhD, OPP’s Program Director at that time, were interviewed in April 2013 by Edwin Rutsch of the Center for Building a Culture of Empathy.

They came together to explore the topic, “how can we build a culture of empathy,” and the transformational impact of empathy on thriving … even in Oregon’s prisons.
